Privacy Policy

Guardrail (“the App”) helps Shopify merchants monitor their inventory and receive alerts about changes that can cause overselling. This policy explains what data the App handles and why.

Information we handle

When you install the App on your store, we access and store:

What we do not collect

The App does not access, request, or store your customers’ personal information, order details, payment information, or any end-shopper browsing data. It requests only product and inventory permissions.

How we use it

Data is used solely to run the service: to watch inventory in real time, detect anomalies (negative stock, low stock, unusual jumps, rapid changes), optionally pause a product from sale, and email you alerts. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it is stored (subprocessors)

The App relies on these service providers to operate:

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall the App, Shopify sends us a shop-redaction request and we delete all data associated with your store (typically within 48 hours). You may also request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with our hosting and database providers. Access credentials are kept as encrypted environment secrets.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
